ABOUT THE PROJECT

When moving into my new home in October of 2020 I had some specific wishes for my interior and furniture. In my living room I wanted a big table, so I could invite plenty of people over for dinner, but also enough shelving for artworks, books, and other bits and bobs.

The shelves and table are made of 30x30mm black steel square tubing and solid oak for all flat surfaces. The shelves are 20mm thick and the table is 30mm thick solid oak, all coated in a matte transparent laquer.

There’s three different parts to this piece of furniture. The shelving are two identical ’towers’ connected by a single shelve above the table. The table is a stand alone table which can be pulled out from between the shelving and rotated so people can sit all around it, or put aside when I need the space for a party gathering.
